Noel R. Salaysay is an inactive/retired member of the the Law Society of Alberta. He retired as Judicial Clerk III after 31 years of service with the Alberta Justice Department, Court of Queen’s Bench, Edmonton. After his retirement from public service in June, 2005, he started working as a Court Interpreter in English and Tagalog, both in civil and criminal cases. He was also involved in translating the Temporary Foreign Workers Program and Alberta Wildlife brochures among others. He has been a volunteer with the Philippine Honorary Consulate Office in Edmonton for the past 10 years. Noel is originally from the Philippines, and has been a member of the Philippine Bar Association since 1968. He received his Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the Far Eastern University in Manila and a Bachelor of Arts-Equivalency from the Athabasca University, Edmonton, Alberta. He arrived in Canada with his family in Nov.1973. Both Noel and his wife, Erna are widely travelled, and have raised together five children – two lawyers, one Chartered Accountant, one Marketing Director and a federal government employee currently working in Victoria, B.C.

Michael Ferrer graduated Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education degree with special honor distinction of “CUM LAUDE”, major in Religious Education and minor in English Literature. He has two years’ teaching experience at elementary and high school levels. For the past 10 years, Michael has held a position in human resource Alberta, performing full scope HR practices, including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, training and retention of employees. Michael has also been involved in disability services and health care sector as he is a certified Health Care Aide, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) instructor as also a trainer of WHMIS, Food Safety, Promoting Safety and Fire Safety programs. In addition, he educates caregivers on Personal Care Skills training, Diabetes, Arthritis, COPD and Parkinson’s diseases. He also teaches Palliative Care courses.
